3rd South Battersea Brownies
muppster took me along to her new unit (she normally does Guides, see) last night, so I gots to go to Brownies for reeeeeal! And it was so much fun!

I was worried they might have da woodland animal Sixes, see, or da proper kind of Sixes (lil peeps) but not have da Elves, but phew! It was da okie, they had an Elf Six (and Gnomes and Imps and Kelpies) and da Sixer looked after me and showed me were to stand in da circle and we sang da Brownie Song and skipped through da arch and round da toadstool. All da Brownie traditions! :D

And we played lossofgames! We played:

Port and Starboard

Dis is da fun game! muppster picked one wall of da Brownie Hall to be Port, and da opposite one to be Starboard. And when she said one we hads to run to dat wall, and da lasterist person gets out, until there's a winner. But there's lossofthings muppster could say likes:

Splice the mainbrace: run to the other end of da hall
Man overboard: run to da muppster
Climb the rigging: you gots to mime climbing up da ringings
Scrub the deck: you gots to get down on your knees and pretends to scrub da floor
Captain's coming: you gots to jump up and salut and shout "Aye aye Captain!"
Captain's daughter: you gots to way "wooo" and make a girly pose
Sharks are coming: you has to gets your feets off da floor
Lifeboats in threes: or twos, or whatever number da muppster says. You gots to get into groups of dat number and sit line astern with your legs nested like you is in a lifeboat.

Dogs and Kennels

Dis game is lots like Fishes in da Sea, but with different words. You gots to get into pairs, and one of da pair is a doggy and da other is a kennel. Da Kennels stand in a line side by side with their legs open, so da doggies can squeeze between their legs on all fours. Da game starts with all da doggies in their kennels, and muppster tells a story what has magic words in:

Walkies: all the doggies get up and start walking round the line of kennels, all in the same direction.
Cat: all da doggies start to run to catch da cat!
Sausage: they runs even fasterer!
Change direction: they gots to go in da opposite direction round da kennels.
Dinner time: all da doggies race to a kennel. It doesn't have to be the kennel they started in (is like musical chairs, see) but but but they gots to enter the kennel from behind, and they gots to keep going in the same direction.

While da doggies are out of their kennels, da muppster can close kennels by patting dat Brownie on da head. She gots to close her legs and doggy can'ts go in there. So when it's dinner time, da doggies what don't get a kennel is out, until you gots only da one doggy left and she da winner!

And den you swaps so da kennel Brownies gets a go at being doggies.

Oh I likes dis game lossanlosts! Everybody stands in a circle and you puts a teddy on da floor in da middle (or keys or a hat or something) and eveybody gets numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4...all da way round. Den we gots to sing (it doesn't realy gots a tune, though) da song and do da actions:

Wee Willie Winkie
Running through the town (you gots to mime running)
Upstairs (jump up with your arms stretched up)
Downstairs (touch da floor)
In his nightgown (make da outline of his gown)
Knocking at the windows (knock on da door)
Crying through the locks (cup you hands round your mouth and shout it)
Are all the children in their beds?
It's past...

and da muppster says an o'clock, and whatever da number is, them is da peeps whats got to run, see? If she say it's past three o'clock all da number threes run. They gots to run all da way round da outside of da circle and then back through their space to grab da teddy from da middle of da circle firstest. And da team what gets da mostest points is da winners.

And also played some games about da sences, see. It was for da Right Now badge Right to be Heard, and we did stuffs all about communicating. We played Chinese Whispers but with charades, so we sat in a line astern, and da person at da backist got mimed something what they had to mime to the next person forward, and the person at da front had to guess what it was meant to be. Da other Brownies were dead good at it :D And we played a game where we sat back to back with a partner and you had to draw the picture she was describing to you, and it was da hard! And da ver ver funny comparing the two when you was finished.

And we sang da Brownie Bells at da end, and I'm soooooooooo excited about next week! I can'ts wait to go back :D
